NEW Hotel’s rennovation project involved reinterpretation of traditional objects of popular culture, focusing on three Greek themes. The third theme is based on a wall collage of historic postcards offering a glimpse of old Athens through a modern design twist.
The renovation project of NEW Hotel included favela constructions made of abandoned pieces of furniture from old hotel or collected from the street, inspired by the Campana’s iconic Favela chair, reminiscent of the favelas in Brazil. They are adorning the hotel’s lobby walls and extend at NEW Taste restaurant on the ground floor, in the form of “favela trees”, namely columns covered in long narrow strips of wood.
